AC installation in Torrevieja and the Costa Blanca
1x1 splits, 2x1 and 3x1 multi-splits, legal installation with F-Gas certification. Site survey and full commissioning.
What our service includes
Four commitments that set a professional job apart.
Site survey
We measure copper run, assess the switchboard and check feasibility before quoting.
Legal installation
Done by an F-Gas certified technician, vacuum with proper pump, gas charge with electronic scale.
Full commissioning
Leak test, pressure test and real cooling check with a digital thermometer.
Warranty
Manufacturer’s official warranty (3-5 years) plus our 30-day cover on labour.
The proper process for a professional install
Installing a split AC looks simple but has several critical steps that separate a 15-year installation from one that fails in three. Most AC problems we see come from rushed installations by uncertified people who skip steps that aren’t visible but determine real lifespan.
First step is always the site survey. We measure exact copper distance between indoor and outdoor units, check space and orientation for the outdoor unit, evaluate whether the switchboard handles the new equipment or needs a contracted-power upgrade, and verify community rules about facade installation.
1x1 splits and multi-splits: which to choose
The 1x1 split is the most common and economical option. One indoor unit linked to a dedicated outdoor unit. Works well for a main bedroom or medium living room. To cool two or more rooms from a single facade, multi-splits are the only sensible answer. A 2x1 multi-split has one outdoor and two indoor units that can run together or separately, each with its own remote and target temperature.
In typical Torrevieja, La Mata, Cabo Roig or Punta Prima apartments, where the facade only allows one outdoor unit, the 3x1 multi-split is the most-sold configuration. It cools the living room, master bedroom and a second bedroom from a single outdoor unit. Slightly more expensive than three 1x1 splits combined but takes a tenth of the facade space and simplifies aesthetics.
The detail that separates pro from botched
The vacuum. After connecting copper tubing between indoor and outdoor units, you have to deep-vacuum the refrigerant circuit to remove air and moisture before charging gas. Without vacuum, residual air mixed with refrigerant cuts equipment efficiency 20-30%, heats the compressor and shortens its life dramatically. The proper vacuum runs a dedicated pump down to -700 millibars and holds 30 minutes to verify tightness.
Second detail is the gas charge. Quantity must be exactly what the manufacturer specifies for the installed copper length. A gram off either way isn’t immediately obvious but accumulated over 5 years it’s lost performance. Charging is always with a precision electronic scale, never estimated by pressure like fast installers do.
Brands and real differences
Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and LG are the three premium brands we install most. Their inverter tech is fully mature and consumes 40% less than old fixed-speed AC for the same cooling output. Outdoor noise is clearly lower, which matters in community courtyards where neighbours complain. Filters are higher quality and last longer between cleans.
Toshiba, Panasonic and Fujitsu sit a notch below in price but not too far in quality. Good options for tighter budgets. Cheaper brands like basic Samsung, Hisense or Hitachi work fine the first four or five years but efficiency and durability are lower and they need more maintenance.
Install time and planning
A standard 1x1 split with under 4 metres of copper and an accessible outdoor unit completes in 3-5 hours in a single visit. A 3x1 multi-split with three indoor units in different rooms typically needs a full day, especially if copper has to run through suspended ceiling or external trunking. For tight start-of-season schedules we recommend booking at least two weeks ahead. June and July get inevitably tight as the whole region installs at once.

FAQ
How long does a standard install take?
1x1 split with short copper and accessible outdoor unit: 3-5 hours. 3x1 multi-split: full day. Add time for ceiling-routed copper or board adjustments.
Is F-Gas certification required?
Yes, mandatory in Spain for any work involving refrigerant gas. Without it the manufacturer warranty is void and the install can be declared illegal.
Which brand do you recommend?
Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and LG are premium. Toshiba, Panasonic, Fujitsu are good mid-range. Tight budgets: Samsung or Hisense work for the first years.
Does my community allow facade installation?
Depends on the urbanisation. We check the bylaws or call the administrator before installing. Some require horizontal side flue or an approved grille.
Is a site visit required?
Yes. Without measuring copper, checking facade and evaluating the switchboard, no honest quote is possible. Visit is free and no obligation.
