The to-do list that keeps growing
There’s a category of home work that isn’t plumbing, electrical or proper carpentry. It’s those things that have sat on the list for months and could be done in an afternoon if you had the tools and the energy. The picture you need to hang. The door that scrapes. The IKEA furniture that arrived two months ago and is still in its box. The bathroom tap that drips, but not enough yet to call a plumber.
That’s what the handyman is for. Not full renovations or work that needs certification. For everything else.
What a handyman actually does
Furniture assembly is the most common request. IKEA, Leroy Merlin, Amazon. Most furniture today comes in boxes and takes one to four hours to assemble. Our handymen know the standard fixings and assemble with power tools, not the plastic screwdriver that comes in the box.
Hanging pictures, mirrors and TVs. Sounds simple until you hit reinforced concrete, or anchors that won’t hold in the wall material, or a 65-inch screen that needs an articulated bracket fixed with precision. Handymen carry the right hardware: expansion plugs for concrete, butterfly anchors for plasterboard, chemical fixings for heavy loads.
Adjusting doors and windows. Building movement, temperature changes and humidity make doors rub the frame, windows not close properly or shutters jam. Often it’s a hinge adjustment or a quick sand, under an hour of work.
Minor wall repairs: filling holes left by anchors, sealing surface cracks, applying silicone in bathroom and kitchen joints. Small things that affect the overall look and pile up over time.
Costa Blanca homes have their quirks
Most homes in the area are flats built between the 70s and 2000s. Brick or block walls, mid-height ceilings, installations that have collected patches over the years. Many have passed through several owners and tenants and have that mix of materials and ad-hoc solutions that makes every visit a bit different.
For non-resident owners who rent their flat, the handyman is especially useful at the end of each season: going over the wear left by tenants, replacing what’s broken, leaving the place ready for the next booking. We do these turnaround visits with a list of jobs the owner sends in advance.
No silly minimums, plenty of efficiency
We work by the hour with a one-hour minimum that includes the call-out. If you have five small things to do, ideally group them into a single visit. It’s more efficient and cheaper than five separate calls. Tell us what you need and we estimate the time before confirming.
For larger jobs (post-season turnaround, moving in, full IKEA kitchen or living room) we plan the visit ahead and give you a fixed quote for the whole thing.
“Assembled the entire IKEA kitchen in one afternoon. Punctual, tidy and great value.”

What a handyman doesn’t do
For transparency: the handyman doesn’t do work that requires specific legal certification. For plumbing on mains pipes or main drains, we call a plumber. For anything inside the consumer unit or new circuits, certified electrician. For gas installations, authorised technician. If the job you’re thinking of falls into one of those categories, we’ll tell you when you ask for the quote.

FAQ
What’s the difference between a handyman and a plumber or electrician?
The handyman does general home work that doesn’t need specific professional certification: furniture assembly, hanging items, minor repairs, adjustments. For electrical or plumbing work on pipes or wiring, you need a certified specialist.
How much does the handyman service cost?
Price depends on time and materials. We give you an indicative quote before confirming. Visit minimum is one hour. For task-list jobs we review with you upfront to estimate total time.
Do you bring tools and materials?
Tools always. For specific materials (anchors, screws, silicone, etc.) we usually carry them in the van. If special material is needed, we’ll tell you in advance.
Can you do a list of small repairs in one visit?
Yes, it’s the most common and most efficient setup. Send us the list on WhatsApp and we’ll estimate the total time.
Do you work on holiday rental flats?
Yes, we work with holiday-rental owners on end-of-season checks, repairing wear and tear and getting the place ready for new tenants.
