Mirror types we make
The damp-proof bathroom mirror is what we sell most. Difference vs conventional is in the back layer, made with special varnish resistant to continuous moisture and shower vapour. A conventional mirror in a bathroom deteriorates quickly: dark spots appear on the back from silvering decomposition, especially at lower edges where water collects. A damp-proof mirror keeps its perfect reflective surface for 15-20 years under normal bathroom use.
The bevel-edged decorative mirror is the traditional classic option. The mirror edge is cut in 15-30 mm angled bevel that creates a luminous refraction effect catching the light. Aesthetically adds a craftsman quality note and is perfect for hallways, dressing rooms or anywhere the mirror is decorative as well as functional. We work with standard 45° bevels and special flat bevels for a more modern finish.
The LED backlit mirror is the current premium trend in design bathrooms. A perimeter LED strip is integrated behind the mirror, lighting it with a soft halo effect, very elegant. Acts as decorative element when off and as functional lighting when on (replacing the traditional ceiling bathroom light). Costs more than a simple mirror but is the most visible upgrade you can make in a modern bathroom.
Decorative mirrors for living rooms, dining rooms and entrances are the freest category. Any shape (rectangular, circular, oval, irregular), any size up to 3 metres without joints, and any edge finish (bevelled, rounded, straight, decorated). We quote from your sketch or inspiration references.
Special treatments
For high-humidity bathrooms with poor ventilation, we recommend anti-fog treatment that prevents the mirror misting up from shower vapour. A system with electrical heater behind the mirror that turns on with a switch or automatically on humidity sensor. Works very well and is the comfortable solution for mirrors over a sink right opposite the shower.
For zones seeking privacy but also natural light, two-way or dichroic mirror is interesting. Seen from one side it works as a mirror, from the other as transparent glass. Less common application but useful in some specific cases of creative interior partitions.
Correct installation
Wall anchoring is what separates a professional install from a risky one. For small and medium mirrors up to 5 kg, mirror-specific double-sided tape on a clean substrate is enough (provided the wall is stable and there’s no damp). For large mirrors and all bathroom mirrors with ambient humidity, mechanical anchoring with specific fixings behind the mirror or hidden side clips. Never use common silicone-type adhesive to fix mirrors: with humidity and weight they eventually give, and a fallen large mirror is a serious accident.

FAQ
How long for a custom mirror?
5-10 days from measurement. Special mirrors with bevels or backlighting: 10-15 days. Quick install once made.
Damp-proof treatment mandatory in bathroom?
Highly recommended. A conventional mirror deteriorates in 2-3 years in a bathroom with normal use. Damp-proof lasts 15-20 years looking good.
Are LED backlit mirrors reliable?
Yes, with proper install. Quality LEDs last 25,000-50,000 hours. We recommend an accessible external transformer for eventual maintenance.
What shapes can you do?
Any shape. Rectangular, circular, oval, irregular. Up to 3 metres without joints. From client sketch or our proposal.
Do you work with old mirrors for restoration?
Old mirrors with back spots (damaged silvering) aren’t restorable. We recommend replacing with a new one of the same format. Old frames can be kept and reused.
